Dryland training (for those that want) will start on Thursday, October 13th at 6:45 PM at Westview Park ("Garbage Dump hill").
We meet on the north side and there is a small parking lot there.

Swap Shop Cancelled (for the 3rd year in a row)
CCSAM has again decided to cancel the annual Swap Shop. It had been held in mid November for over 30 years.
In recent years, the vast majority of equipment for sale at the Swap Shop has come from local ski shops who are clearing out previous years’ stock. Again this year, there is little to clear out, so the Swap Shop would have had a shortage of items for purchase.
There are a number of online buy & sell platforms that individuals can use to buy or sell cross country ski items — Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji are the two most obvious. In particular, there is a Manitoba Cross Country ski gear Buy, Sell and trade Facebook group that has almost 2600 members.

Registration open now and dryland training starting October 13th

We haven't yet finalized winter plans, but dryland training at Westview Park (north of Polo Park area) will start Thursday, October 13th at 6:45 PM
Here is a little bit of what we do for dryland training:

Strength Training with Amy!
Checkout the info below - Amy is a past member of the club an A+ instructor that many DN skiers have used to build great resilient strength for skiing and other endurance sports. She is starting her next block of training next week!
Do you want to:

This progressive series is designed to help you build strength, coordination & balance for the x-country trails and the slopes!

The Blocks:
Block 1: September 5 - September 28 (body weight exercises)
Rest week
Block 2: October 10 - November 2 (exercise bands)
Rest week
Block 3: November 14 - December 7 (free weights - ie. dumbbells/ kettlebells)
Sessions will be held over Zoom on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm (CDT/CST).
*Equipment is optional & will not be provided. Exercises can be done without resistance bands or weights, however greater benefit will be gained from some equipment. If you don’t have any at home, I’m happy to provide suggestions or house-hold alternatives.
Payment:
$140/ block
You’re welcome to sign up for 1 block at a time. You do not have to commit to all 3.
Payments can be made via E-Transfer to amylynn095@gmail.com. If you’d like an invoice or a receipt, please send me an email to let me know.
Payment is due before the beginning of each block.
*Workouts will be recorded over Zoom (instructor only) & sent out to participants who missed the live session. These recordings will be accessible for a limited time (48 hrs) post-session.
